In Loving Memory
Tommy Ruth (Smith) Russell
February 25, 1957 – June 23, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of one of our own co-workers, Tommy Russell.
She was the administrative assistant for the El Dorado Springs office since early 2018. Her background in finance and 35 years in banking with a specialty in personal finance was a perfect match for ATMS. She had a degree from the American Institute of Banking and retired from banking only to continue her work at ATMS. She followed In her father’s footsteps, as he was also a banker. She once said of her work ethic, “I believe in being on time for work, having a good attitude, and doing my job to the best of my ability. I love working with the public and helping them as much as I can. That’s what I like about ATMS. They do everything to help the customer and do it with smiles on their faces.”
Tommy was a very loving, caring, funny, compassionate, and spunky person. Although she never had children of her own, she had several adoptive grandchildren. She also considered her pets her children. She had three dogs and four cats.
She also leaves behind her husband, Ken. She married him and moved from Georgia six years ago. “I am a true Southern girl who married a Missouri boy and moved to Missouri,” Tommy said. Tommy loved the Atlanta Falcons and brought that passion with her even after moving to Missouri. She volunteered in many directions, including serving as treasurer in the church and for the Eagles Club.
Tommy never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. We will miss her.
